In September 1985, council president Joella D. Burgoon reported, " All camps experienced an increase in participation over 1984 ..... Core Troop Camp: 1,359 girls; Resident camp: 625 girls....... Over 16,000 people use our camps each year.  We have now completed our 11th year without serious incident or injury....."
