Story
The camp was beautiful and very peaceful. We used to take the campers to watch the army tanks during their maneuvers over the other side of the fence adjacent to Camp Hilaka. The big secret about the camp at that time was about a ghost that was photographed in the mill house. My sister said she had seen the photos at Girl Scout head quarters in Cleveland.
What you miss?
Great friendships was forged at the camp each Summer.
Why did you came back?
I loved the setting. Sitting around a camp fire singing. The closing ceremony every 2 weeks at the end of each session with Wish Boats lit up on the Lake with candles that were made by each unit. And lighting of the bond fire on a raft in the middle of the lake from a single canoe.

I attended Girl Scout Camp every Summer from 1962 to 1970. I was a camp counselor in The Summer of 1971 and 1972. My counselor name was Tigger. My three older sisters attended camp there as well.

Denise Walker - camp counselor

As counselors we skinny dipped in the pool at night, climbed a large tree in front of Lake Linnea and hung out on the roof of North House.
