Why this matters
Our mission statement describes who we are as an organization. When someone hears that you are a member of something called "FoCH", they may have no idea what that means. The mission statement is the short explanation.
FoCH's original mission statement was about Girl Scouts. As the ownership changed, we deleted the Girl Scout references. Then we waited to see how our role would evolve.
In our Code of Regulations, we defined FoCH's purpose of the for the State of Ohio: " to ensure that the property known as Crowell Hilaka becomes an ecological, recreational, historic, and educational resource for the public."
Our tagline was a way to describe ourselves on a T shirt: "Preserving Ohio's Hidden Treasure".
Now that Richfield has taken ownership of the property and our relationship with the RJRD has been formalized, it is time for a new description of purpose.
