James Kirby was the brilliant, but flawed, self-taught engineer who shaped the Crowell Hilaka property.  He was known in his youth as The Wizard of the West Side.  But it was at this site in Richfield where he turned his visions into reality.  The talk features never-before published photos and information from the Kirby family, and suggests a possibility for the future of the property.

Presenter Lynn Scholle Richardson is registered nurse at University Hospitals of Cleveland main campus. She grew to love Crowell Hilaka as a Girl Scout leader in the 1990’s.  Her previous research experience culminated in the book Raising KIds Cheap in Greater Cleveland.
