FRIENDS OF CROWELL HILAKA “FRIDAY FUN DAYS”
Friends of Crowell Hilaka (FoCH) for Richfield Heritage Preserve (RHP) is sponsoring “Friday Fun Days”. Each Friday---from June 4 through September 3---FoCH will be sharing fun STEAM-inspired activities and craft ideas for families to do together. There will be selective in-park events as well as crafts that can be made at home. Projects are park-inspired, and “how to” worksheets will be available at park kiosks and downloadable at www.friendsofcrowellhilaka.org. Ohio's Hidden Treasure ™ Richfield Heritage Preserve is a 336-acre public park located at 4374 Broadview Road in Richfield.
Friday Fun Days is part of FoCH’s 100 day “One is Good, Two is Better” matching gift fundraising campaign---which kicks off on May 31 and runs through September 6---to help restore the park’s iconic Kirby’s Mill, built in 1922 by well-known inventor James Kirby (who once resided on the property) to produce hydroelectric power for his home and workshop. Thanks to a generous donor, every dollar contributed during this time frame will be matched by a dollar (up to $5,000)—doubling each gift’s impact and bringing FoCH closer to getting the mill wheel turning again.
